Motorcyclists: If you are riding this fast on a public road, you cannot expect other road users, especially those driving semis, to see you coming. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I was doing between 65-70mph, so I’ll let you make your own guesses as to how fast this dude was going.

I completely agree that car and truck drivers in general need to be more conscious and courteous to motorcycles and bicyclists on the road, and vice versa (and of course plenty already are). However, my personal opinion is simple: I cannot be made to care more about your safety that you do.

I’m with you. As unfortunate as it is, motorists cannot be checking their mirrors every single second in case some maniac is doing twice the limit, or doing some manouver faster than is necessary.

You can use the same logic as when driving a car: the slower you do everything, the more chance you have of being seen, and the more recovery time you have if you make a mistake.

Not condoning those speeds but at least you can hear him approaching. LOUD PIPES SAVES LIVES. Saw a scary looking dude riding a chopper with that on his vest. Bike sounded terrible and was crazy loud.

True enough. You can only kind of tell but when I heard him I looked in my mirror, saw him coming, and moved to the right side of the lane. If it hadn’t been for the sound I never would’ve seen him until he passed.

I used to have a sport bike with straight pipes (from previous owner) and I fully believe loud pipes save lives. I will never do it again because its too fucking loud to ride, but EVERYONE knew I was coming...
